Users get an error posting sales documents due to changes in Tax Setup and User Setup after updating to Version: US Business Central 23.1 (Platform 23.0.13763.0 + Application 23.1.13431.13546)
The Error!
“The Tax Date is not within the range of allowed Tax Dates”
New Fields Added to User Setup
Nestled in among the fields we have come to know in User Setup (Table 91) are 2 new fields that cannot be accessed via the page but can be seen using Page Inspection – Allow Tax Date From and Allow Tax Date To. If users had Allow Posting From and Allow Posting To dates assigned when your system was updated from V23.0 to V23.1, these same dates will have been assigned to these new fields.
New Fields Added to Tax Setup (VAT Setup)
Tax Setup (Table 189) has also gained 2 new fields – Allow Tax Date From and Allow Tax Date To. These fields appear to be populated with the dates assigned to the first user in User Setup on updating. Or maybe the first date range found in the User Setup table. I’m not sure, but regardless of where is finds the dates, having dates here is a problem.
The Solution
Use a Configuration Package exporting tables 189 and 91 to Excel. Clear the dates in the tax related date fields in these 2 tables and import the tables back into the Configuration Package and Apply Data.
