You are working in Business Central and you need to find the value in a field on a page. Maybe you are in Sales & Receivables Setup and you are trying to find the setting for how to default the remaining quantity on sales documents to blank. Geez, the list of settings on this page keeps growing. Where is that darned setting anyway?
Now is when I call on the universally trusty Find on Page or CTRL + F. Yes, the same keyboard shortcut we use in browsers and other apps.
With CTRL + F, Find opens at the top right of the open browser window with focus. Use the search field and type in “default”. Viola! The number of occurrences of “default” are indicated and the matches are highlighted on the page. Matches will include field captions and data. Unfortunately, if a possible match is not visible (for example, the FastTab is collapsed so the field cannot be seen), it will not be included in the Find results. For Find to look through all fields, expand the FastTabs. The field highlight will change color as you arrow through the found selections.

Alternatively, you have been asked for a customer’s tax exemption no.. You know the field is on the customer card somewhere. Expand the FastTabs and use Find (CTRL + F) and you will have the information for them in no time.
