Short but worth a post
A customer reported that suddenly their company logo and address are not printing on their remittance advice email body and attachment. I checked the report layout, and nothing appeared to have changed. We couldn’t determine if an update had occurred between when it last worked and today. With the help of a developer, taking about 1 minute to look at the report code, we quickly got to the root of the problem. There is an option in the report to print or not print the company logo and address. That’s all I needed to know to fix the problem.
The fix
When you are ready to email/send your next batch of remittance advice from the payment journal, proceed as usual by going Related, Payments, Send Remittance Advice. But instead of selecting Printer = No and Email = Yes, do the opposite. Select Printer = Yes (Prompt for Settings) and Email = No.
Click OK.
In the Export Electronics Payments request page that opens, select Print Company Address and Print Company Logo.
Select Print at the bottom. You must select Print to save the request page settings. Preview, Cancel or Send to do not save settings.
By printing the report, the settings for address and logo printing are saved (remembered) and will be used even when you select to email the remittance advice and don’t get the request page.
To confirm this to be true, email a remittance advice.
I don’t know why this changed for my customer, but if you are reading this it may have happened to you also. Thanks for reading and I hope this helps.
